So, I spent the last three days looking at the drivers I felt had the best chance to win this weekend. They represent the three best, in my opinion, teams in the sport. Hendrick, Gibbs, and Penske. Why not Stewart Haas and Harvick? The move to Ford next year is going to begin to hurt them as the season moves on. They will get less and less support from Chevy and Hendrick, regardless of what they say.
Hamlin, Johnson, and Logano were my picks as the week went on. Joey has never won but should have last Fall. He also has the last two poles at the clip. Johnson has won there 8 times and Denny 5. Not to hard to figure out who runs well there and who will this weekend.
In the end it will be Logano who pulls in to Victory Lane on Sunday as a first time winner this season and will also get his first Grandfather clock. Roger Penske has waited six months to exact revenge on JGR. Men like the Captain don’t do it through force. They are calculated and smart. I can only imagine the time and resources that are going in to the 2 and 22 for this weekend. Joey will have the strongest car, win his third consecutive Martinsville Pole, run up front most of the day and take the checkered flag.
